About Roncesvalles Village

The 2024 Ontario Open is being held at St. Casimir’s Parish Hall, 156 Roncesvalles Avenue, in the heart of Roncesvalles Village.

This vibrant neighbourhood is full of great restaurants and shops, and is a short walk from High Park and Sunnyside Park on Lake Ontario.

By Transit

We recommend that people take transit if possible. The neighbourhood is very well-served by transit, especially the 504a King streetcar, which runs on King Street and Roncesvalles Avenue between downtown and Dundas West Station.

By subway: take the Bloor subway (Line 2) to Dundas West Station. From there, it’s a 10-15 minute walk south, or you can take the 504 King streetcar from the station to the Garden stop, and walk a block north.

Roncesvalles is easily reached by transit by many streetcar lines:

• 501/508 Queen/Queensway: stop at Roncesvalles and transfer north on the 504 to Garden Ave., or walk about ten minutes);
• 504a King: from either Dundas West Station or downtown, take this streetcar to Garden Ave. The venue is half a block north;
• 505 Dundas (take it to Dundas West Station, then take the 504a south);
• 506 Carlton to Roncesvalles, and either walk south or transfer to the southbound 504a King car.

By Car

It is very easy to get to Roncesvalles Village by car. We recommend using Google Maps for directions.

However, parking is quite limited in Roncesvalles Village. There is a private pay parking lot behind the Polish Credit Union at 220 Roncesvalles Avenue, that can be entered from Fern Avenue, a half-block north of the venue. This is the best option for parking nearby, but the lot can fill quickly.

There is on-street parking on Roncesvalles that costs about $3 per hour. There is a three-hour limit in any spot.

On side streets, there is free parking if you can find it, but please pay close attention to the posted limits on parking. In some parts of the neighbourhood side-street parking is limited to an hour or two for non-residents.

There are larger parking lots near Bloor and Dundas, and on Queen near the foot of Roncesvalles. To get from these parking lots to the venue is a short walk or streetcar trip.

Accommodations

The organizers are not recommending any accommodations, but encourage participants to find their own. There are few hotels near Roncesvalles Village, but there are a number of well-reviewed B&Bs within a short walk, and many larger hotels are on major transit lines that reach the neighbourhood easily.
