ACC is open every Monday evening except for holidays. Our doors open at 5:00 pm for our kids’ classes and our youth tournament, and casual play at 6:30 pm. Our regular club tournament round starts at 7:30 p.m. The club usually closes at 11:30 p.m.
We occasionally hold special events that alter our regular schedule.
ACC offers different annual memberships to join the club. Membership privileges include ticket discounts, access to our chess library, and reduced class fees. Additional discounts are available for juniors, seniors, and students. Learn more here.
The Toronto Women’s Chess Club usually meets on the second Monday of the month, starting at 6:30 p.m. The club is specifically for women and girls, and is hosted by WGM Anna Burtasova. Each month, she delivers an instructive and inspiring lecture, followed by casual games. TWCC members also enjoy a year of casual play at the club. More information here.
In a word, yes! Quite a few of our club tournament players are young people, some as young as seven or eight. We also run a weekly tournament just for kids! ACC also runs regular classes for young people at different skill levels, from beginner to advanced.
ACC offers weekly five-round classical chess tournaments with a time control of 90+30. Our events feature three sections: Crown, Under 1800, and Under 1400. These tournaments are CFC-rated, with the Crown section also being FIDE-rated. Players have the option to participate in single rounds or entire tournaments. For complete details, visit here.

The skittles room opens at 6:30 on club nights, offering a space for casual games, with or without a clock. It’s a laid-back atmosphere, perfect for quiet conversations and game analysis. Tournament players and ACC class students are also welcome to use the area.
Nope! No need for your own equipment. ACC supplies boards, sets, clocks, and scoresheets.

We offer water for free and coffee and tea for 50¢. There are no food options at the club, but there is a Domino’s right next to the club, as well as plenty of food options on Bloor Street nearby.
Please note that you are welcome to have drinks at the board, but not food.
